Zero One Design is accepting applications for the=20
2009 Sponsor a Museum program until April 20,=20
2009. This is the fourth year for the program=20
which offers museums or galleries free assistance=20
with their technological and web needs. Past=20
recipients include the Bytown Museum in Ottawa,=20
Ontario and the Buffalo Nations Museum in Banff, Alberta.

Zero One Design is a design company based out of=20
Victoria, BC. We work exclusively with culture -=20
primarily museums and galleries and count some of=20
the best of these as our clients. We are firm=20
believers in giving back to our community and we=20
decided in 2004 that what we really wanted to do,=20
what really put a fire in our belly, was to take=20
a smaller museum or gallery under our wing and=20
help them out with their technological and web=20
needs. We run across too many institutions that=20
have amazing collections, but no money, staff or=20
technological skills to present them in the online world.

What this program offers:

- the breadth and depth of the company=92s=20
knowledge of museums and galleries and=20
technology, gathered over eleven years of working=20
in the field, attending and presenting at=20
conferences aimed at culture and technology,=20
reading about culture and often just =93geeking out=94 about it
- advice, skills and possibly grunt work=20
to help a museum either improve or create a website
- assistance with collection management=20
systems including an opportunity to get set up=20
with a pro version of Canada=92s newest collection management system -=
 Arbutus

What we want:

- an institution who will work with us to=20
improve what they have - and have a little bit of=20
time to put towards this project
- an institution that is open minded and willing to be cutting edge
- an institution that has passion for=20
technology or will allow our passion for the field to rub off
- any benefits that you offer current sponsors

We have had a few museums ask if this is for real=20
... in fact, we get this quite often. It is=20
definitely for real =96 we are not out for money,=20
we just want to give back to our community. We=20
have a panel of advisors =96 leaders in the museum=20
community =96 that will help us make the final=20
decision on our Sponsor a Museum 2009 recipient.

Information on the program and an online=20
application form can be found at=20
