/by Brenna Maag and /Navigating the Uncertainty Principle/ by Ingrid
Koenig. Both exhibitions open on Thursday, April 2 at 7pm at Richmond
Art Gallery.
*/TITLE: Observation of Wonder/ *
*EXHIBITION DATES: April 2 – May 17, 2009*
*ARTIST NAME: Brenna Maag
**Curator: Deborah Koenker*

*Description *
The works /Observation of Wonder/ investigate scientific theories,
naming, and classification to view the formal aspects of daily existence
and the poetics of nature’s diversity. Maag constructs an octagonal dome
or “conservatory” of fabric doilies along with a collection of cyanotype
prints documenting different doilies as ‘scientific’ specimens and
arranged in taxonomic rank.

*/TITLE: / /Navigating the Uncertainty Principle /*
*EXHIBITION DATES: April 2 – May 17, 2009*

Koenig’s drawings and paintings represent everyday objects and
activities mixed with the diagrammatic language of scientific
illustration exploring scientific theories at work in our daily lives.
