NEWS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 5, 2009

Holiday Shopping at the Delta Museum and Archives' Annual Holiday Bazaar

Delta, BC - Have you ever wondered where your favourite knitted scarf came
from? Or where to purchase some of those personal hand crafted items for
that special someone on your holiday list?

There will be plenty of hand crafted items, from knitted scarves to hand
sewn children books, neck pillows to homemade jams and jellies, available at
this years' Annual Holiday Bazaar on Friday, November 13 and Saturday,
November 14 (10:00 to 3:00) at Kinsmen House (5050 - 47th Avenue; next to
the Ladner Pioneer Library).

The Delta Museum and Archives' "Ladies of the Bazaar" have been working hard
all year leading up to the sale and attendees can expect to find a large
selection of items to purchase. The "Ladies" take great pride in their work
and have carefully refined their inventory over the years. In fact some
items are so popular they are often pre-ordered and the ladies can barely
keep up with the demand.

No fundraiser would be complete without door prizes and raffles. Shoppers
can purchase a raffle ticket, or three, for a chance to win some beautiful
prizes. An attractive framed acrylic painting by local artist Kim Scott of
Country Lane Gallery entitled "Canoe Pass" is first prize. Second prize is
a lovely sage floral print quilt ensemble complete with quilt, pillow shams,
bed shirt and coordinated sheet set and third prize consists of a 17"
freshwater pearl and sapphire coloured rondelles necklace complete with
matching earrings. In addition to the raffle, with every purchase shoppers
get to enter their name into a draw for daily prizes.

For the past 30+ years funds generated from this annual event help support
the Delta Museum and Archives in preserving and promoting Delta's rich
history and diverse culture. So join us on November 13 and 14 and find that
prefect gift for that special someone on your list while supporting a local
non-profit organization. Admission is free and there will be complimentary
coffee, tea and cookies available for shoppers.

For more information or to purchase raffle tickets, please contact the Delta
Museum and Archives at 604-946-9322 or visit our website at
