'Fisgard, Race Rocks and the early development of lighthouses on Canada's West Coast'



Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2010. Fisgard and Race Rocks were the only lighthouses built during the colonial period of British Columbia's history.  On December 17th at 7 p.m., discover the early history of these vital aids to navigation and the system that grew from these first two lights. The Maritime Museum welcomes guest speaker Dale Mumford who has spent more than 30 years with Parks Canada interpreting the history of Fisgard Lighthouse and BC's early lighthouses.
