The Fraser River Discovery Centre - new website launched
New Westminster, BC - After months of redevelopment, the Fraser River
Discovery Centre recently re-launched its website at
www.fraserriverdiscovery.org <http://www.fraserriverdiscovery.org/> . As
well as sections with more in-depth information on the Fraser River, the
site features community links, volunteer resources, education and exhibit
pages and a blog.
The website allows the Discovery Centre to better connect with people,
organizations and communities up and down the river. "The Fraser River Basin
covers almost one quarter of BC", explains Kathleen Bertrand, Exhibit and
Communication Coordinator, "and we recognize that not everyone will be able
to physically visit the Discovery Centre. Through our website, everyone can
now visit us virtually."
The blog is a new addition to the site. "There is so much happening at the
Discovery Centre and on the river" explains Bertrand, "the blog gives
readers a peek at what it is like working at the Discovery Centre as well as
place to immediately address issues on the Fraser."
"We've had great feedback on the website so far", says Bertrand, "I'm hoping
visitors to the site will find the information useful and that they will
regularly check back to find out what is happening on the river and at the
Discovery Centre."
The Fraser River Discovery Centre is an interpretive centre connecting
communities in discovery and celebration of the living, working Fraser
River. It is located at 788 Quayside Drive, New Westminster. The Discovery
Centre is open Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm. Admission rates apply for
the exhibit galleries.
