Summary: The Maritime Museum of British Columbia is seeking the services of qualified individuals to fill the positions of Curatorial Assistants working with the Collections staff to document Military uniform articles held in the museum's collection. This project is funded by the Ministry of Housing and Social Development under the Job Creation Partnership program and is for a term of eight months beginning November 2, 2009. Two candidates are required at this level.

Duties: Candidates in this position will be responsible for the assembly and cataloguing of all parts of individual uniforms following a preset matrix established for the collection by the museum staff. The goal of this work is to assemble complete uniform sets and to verify catalogue data and condition reports. Candidates will also be required to assist with the creation of a uniform exhibit which will be installed in the museum's galleries in May of 2010 to help celebrate the RCN centennial. Qualification Conditions: Candidates for this position will be required to be on an active EI claim or be able to meet similar qualifications under EI benefits as set out in the JCP guidelines. Candidates must confirm qualifications with their EI case worker or other equivalent Ministry officer prior to applying.

Term and Hours of Employment: This is a term position and will end on June 11 2010. Candidates will work 7 hours per day, five days per week, Mondays through Fridays.
