*Vancouver Maritime Museum*

Responsible for managing the day to day operation of the museum and 
implementing its strategic direction and vision; will develop short and 
long range operational plans; will work to ensure financial viability; 
will work with senior staff on projects approved by the Board, will 
develop and monitor all policies and procedures on behalf of the 
organization; and will perform other duties as assigned.

The Executive Director will work closely with committees of the Board to 
ensure the organization is furthering its mission and working in 
accordance with its strategic plan.  The Executive Director will work 
with the Board to identify strategic partners and to establish mutually 
beneficial relationships.

*Profile:*

The Board of Directors is looking for a dynamic professional with strong 
business background and other experience in the non profit/cultural 
field; a leader with an entrepreneurial spirit capable of directing the 
organization to achieve its short and long term aims; a responsible 
manager sensitive to effective use of the resources of the organization 
and the management and motivation of its staff and volunteers.

*Qualifications:*

The ideal candidate should have minimum five years experience managing a 
non-profit institution. Bachelor level degree in related subject. MBA 
preferred, but not required.
