The Port Moody Heritage Society also received a denied letter via email. It
is a bit confusing as it states we are denied for 2009/10 but we had
received the funds before the freeze. (I hope they don't expect us to give
the money back.) The letter could be referring to the line that we will not
get 2nd and 3rd year funding.
DA funding is 17% of our budget.

Hi everyone,
The Provincial Government has just cancelled Two Rivers Gallery's previously
awarded $20,000 grant from gaming funds. I am assuming that this will also
apply to the $20,000 grant that they awarded us for 2011.
The Gallery will need to make cuts to adjust to this.

Subject: [Bcma-l] More Gaming Funding denied
The Friends of the North Vancouver Museum & Archives Society has just been
notified that its application for Direct Access funding has been denied. The
grant had been requested for a summer day camp program at the Museum. Gaming
funds have supported this popular annual program for at least a decade.
The (somewhat) good news is that the total amount of our request was not
large. The bad news is that the money has already been spent to pay the
wages of a university student who ran the program this summer. This leaves
our Friends Society without money in the bank to pay for anything else for
the rest of the year.

Gallery’s previously awarded $20,000 grant from gaming funds. I am =
assuming
that this will also apply to the $20,000 grant that they awarded us for =

Vancouver Museum & Archives Society has just been notified that its
application for Direct Access funding has been denied. The grant had =
been
requested for a summer day camp program at the Museum. Gaming funds have
supported this popular annual program for at least a =
decade.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

style=3D'color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class=3DMsoNormal><span style=3D'color:#1F497D'>The (somewhat) good =
news is that
the total amount of our request was not large. The bad news is that the =
money
has already been spent to pay the wages of a university student who ran =
the
program this summer. This leaves our Friends Society without money in =
the bank
to pay for anything else for the rest of the year.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
