The Grand Forks Art Gallery has also been denied. We have received =

for 2010. We would have been in our 3rd year of their "guaranteed" =
funding with no further application. It represents about 8% of our =
operating budget. We too were going to apply for a significant capital =
grant for 2010. Thought it would come from the profits of the 2010 =
Olympics!!

    The Provincial Government has just cancelled Two Rivers Gallery's =
previously awarded $20,000 grant from gaming funds. I am assuming that =
this will also apply to the $20,000 grant that they awarded us for 2011.

    The Friends of the North Vancouver Museum & Archives Society has =
just been notified that its application for Direct Access funding has =
been denied. The grant had been requested for a summer day camp program =
at the Museum. Gaming funds have supported this popular annual program =
for at least a decade.

    =20

    The (somewhat) good news is that the total amount of our request was =
not large. The bad news is that the money has already been spent to pay =
the wages of a university student who ran the program this summer. This =
leaves our Friends Society without money in the bank to pay for anything =
else for the rest of the year.
