Boats and Sails and Anchors, oh Buoy!

The Massive Marine Garage Sale is fast approaching and the anticipation continues to build. The Sale takes place on Saturday April 24th from 9am-1pm at Pier A warehouse down at Ogden Point. This event is an annual fundraiser for the Maritime Museum of BC and brings together boating bargain hunters with a plethora of vendors.

"It's the most fun you can have without being on the water," says Allan Sibley, the Programs and Collections Manager for the Museum. Now in its 7th year, the Massive Marine Garage Sale continues to draw cost conscious boaters. As Sibley says, "The Marine Garage Sale makes boating affordable."

The $5 admission contributes directly to programs at the Maritime Museum of BC. Attendees can browse through a wide variety of marine related items and find their own treasures.

This year the event will be supported by the Coast Guard Auxiliary who will be mounting a display highlighting the importance of boating safety. The Rainbow division of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets will also have a presence at the Garage Sale by assisting with logistics.

Located in the heart of Bastion Square, the Maritime Museum of BC has a wealth of artifacts and history and is a fantastic place to get a glimpse back into the nautical customs of the North Pacific. With exhibits ranging from pirates to heritage vessels and Victoria's original 1889 Courtroom, the MMBC is always a fascinating visit.
