[BCMA] Streakers, skimmers, studiers

Well I've been using a very similar phrase - "streakers, strollers
and studiers" for 20 years to describe the different types of
visitors a museum can expect to encounter. The streaker is the person
who takes 20 minutes to "do the museum" they glance at everything and
only read the main titles. The stroller is the person who meanders
through reads the title and some of the labels, skips the exhibits
that they aren't drawn too - basically the average visitor; finally
the studier is the person who stays for hours, reads every piece of
text and asks the staff for more information. These definitions have
worked well for me as a tool for helping museums develop their
exhibits - basically getting them to understand that not everyone
visits the museum the same way or wants/needs the same thing from
their visit. Museums have to try to address the needs of the
different types museum visitor and not treat everyone the exact same
way.
My two cents.
Happy Friday!
