[BCMA] Managing Archival Collections - Yukon immersion and distance courses

The Cultural Resource Management Program at the University of Victoria is pleased to announce two Fall 2010 offerings of HA 488U Managing Archival Collections. We would be grateful if you could share the following course information with your colleagues.

The distance learning opportunity of Managing Archival Collections<https://www.uvcs.uvic.ca/aspnet/Course/Detail/?code=HA488U001> (https://www.uvcs.uvic.ca/aspnet/Course/Detail/?code=HA488U001) allows for you to build capacity in archives management through online instruction while you remain in your community. This course runs September 13 - December 19, 2010, with a fee of $594 plus course materials purchased from the UVic bookstore.

We are also offering Managing Archival Collections<https://www.uvcs.uvic.ca/aspnet/Course/Detail/?code=HA488U002> (https://www.uvcs.uvic.ca/aspnet/Course/Detail/?code=HA488U002) as a 6-day intensive course in Whitehorse, Yukon, from October 18 – 23, 2010. This course is an in-person experience where you gain a further understanding of archives management in an immersion environment. The cost for the course is $669, which includes a $75 materials fee.


Both course offerings are instructed by Laura Millar, PhD, and will develop your understanding of ways in which archives are organized, managed, preserved, and shared, They can be taken either for credit in our Program or as professional development.
