Hi Everyone,
My name is Natalie Anderson and I work at Mackin House Museum in
Coquitlam. The Museum recently ordered a new replica 1900s stove as
part of a grant. Thus, we do not need the one that is currently housed
in the Museum, and I am hoping to find a new home for it soon.
Information about the stove:
-1934 Fawcett Special Wood Burning Stove
-8-18 Special Series Enamel & Heating Products Ltd., Sackville, N.B.
-Height 58" x width 59"
-The stove was originally used in the home of Luigi and Lizianna
Ciccone. After immigrating to Canada in the 1920s, the couple built
their family home on Williams Street in Vancouver. The stove was
removed from the house in 1982 by grandson Rick Liberto after Mrs.
Ciccone passed away. During his life Mr. Ciccone was well known. He
was the last of the fish peddlers, appearing on the front page of
"Flashback" on January 9, 1967. As well, he was featured in Star Weekly
in 1966. He was also a well known member of the East Vancouver
community.
That is all the information that I have on the stove. If anyone is
interested in it please let me know. I can be contacted via email:
nanderson at coquitlamheritage.ca or by phone 604.516.6151. If you are
phoning and I am not available, ask for executive director Jill Cook.
To be aware, our new stove is scheduled to arrive in approx. 6 weeks, so
we need to have found this one a new home by then.
Lastly, if anyone out there has any suggestions or contact information
of a person or organization that may be interested in this stove, but is
not on the mailing list your help/suggestions would be greatly
appreciated!
I have also attached photographs of the stove for anyone who is
interested.
Cheers,
Natalie Anderson
