I'm passing on the following message because this might be of interest
to a local museum. Please respond to James at his email:
househistorian at yahoo.ca or other contacts below. It appears from the
message that the price might be negotiable.

Hi there,

I am forwarding this message from a client of mine who has a beautful
1950s Moffat stove. They are moving from a heritage house to a more
modern one and want to find a good home for this kitchen feature. I have
seen the stove myself and it looks beautiful. The owners are asking $500
for it with free delivery.

"We were wondering if you could help us. I believe you saw our 1954
Moffat stove when you were here. We have decided to "modernize" and have
bought a new stove but are left with the dilemma of what to do with the
old one. We think it is too rare, neat and eminently desirable to see it
recycled. We were wondering if you have any ideas of where to advertise
this or even if you might be willing to add a small posting to your
blog?

We are not wanting to get a lot of money for it but merely trying to
find an appreciative home (heritage buff) for it. We have advertised it
on Craigslist for $500 and free delivery but no bites so far - I think
using Craigslist for something like this is a long shot and I'm trying
to think of how to target the "old house" crowd. Jane Powell's book on
Bungalow Kitchens, of course, says these 1950's stoves are the way to go
for purist restorations but increasingly difficult to find.

* The stove was made by Moffat and has 'May 17, 1954 Weston Ontario' on
the back
* It is in amazing condition (no significant scratches)
* The knobs for the burners change colour as you turn them to the
different settings
* We have a few spare parts (extra knobs and elements)
* It is 30 inches wide"

Anyone interested? please let me know and I will connect you with the
owners.
