11TH ANNUAL SUNDAY COFFEE CONCERTS

Presented by City of Port Coquitlam, Parks & Recreation

Sundays, Jan. 31, Feb. 14 & 28, Mar. 14 & 28 at 1:30-3:30pm

 

Location: Terry Fox Theatre, 1260 Riverwood Gate, Port Coqtuilam

ADMISSION BY DONATION (suggested $10/adult; $5/student; children under
12 are free)

 

Port Coquitlam, BC:  The Sunday Coffee concerts are a back with a superb
line up of professional performers to recharge audiences in the New
Year.

 

Jan 31              Latin Explosion! Jazz, Salsa, and Rumba Calzada 

Originally formed in 1991, Rumba Calzada creates original sound that is
a powerful blend of Latin Jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms with drums,
percussion, congas, and timbales.

 

Feb. 14            Special Chinese New Year Celebration with Silk Road
Music Ensemble & Guest Artists.  

Begin the Year of the Tiger with spectacular singing, dancing and music
that combines traditional and contemporary sounds of Chinese
instruments, world percussion; Chinese folk songs in English, Japanese
taiko drum and more.  

 

Feb. 28            From Spain to Vietnam for the Young and Young at
Heart 

Traveling from France, China to Hanoi, Vietnam and from strings, drums
to rare bamboo instruments, both adults and children can experience the
wonders of world music with JouTou and the Khac Chi Bamboo Music! 

 

March 14         St. Paddy's Day Salute! A Celtic Celebration with trio
Ballyhooley 

Ballyhooley is a dynamic Vancouver-based group of musicians in love with
the Irish musical tradition ranging from variously raucous and stirring
to hauntingly melodic.

March 28         VOC Soul Gospel Choir - Energetic, Passionate,
Inspirational!

Music director, Checo Tohomaso and his dynamic 60 person choir delivers
an animated, roof raising performance with the sounds of Soul, Gospel,
R&B, Jazz, Calypso and more.
