FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Won't You Be My Valentine???

Delta, BC - Every year, the fourteenth day of February has millions across
the world presenting their loved ones with cards and gifts. From
heart-shaped candies, pretty cards and lots of xoxoxox, Valentine's Day is
our favourite holiday. But how did Valentine's Day come to be? Why do we
give each other flowers, candy and other lovely gifts? And who is this
Cupid fellow whose arrow can make people fall in love?

Just in time for Valentine's Day, children ages 6 to 12 will discover how
traditions have evolved over the years at the Delta Museum & Archives'
"Won't You Be My Valentine?" program on Saturday, February 6. Through
stories, this popular holiday's history will unfold while creating hand-made
valentine cards of lace,
<http://www.theholidayspot.com/valentine/history_of_valentine.htm> ribbon,
cupids and hearts for their special someone.

Join us for this historical adventure on Saturday, February 6 from 10:00am
to noon. Cost is only $5.00 per child and is a wonderful opportunity for
the children to explore this special day's history in a fun and creative
way. Space is limited so to guarantee a spot for your child please call the
Delta Museum and Archives at 604-946-9322 or visit our website at
