[BCMA] FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Simon Whitfield's Olympic torch is on display at the BC Sports Hall of Fame

BC Sports Hall of Famer and two time Olympic medal winner Simon
Whitfield's 2010 torch on display now.  
 
January 28, 2010, Vancouver BC   The BC Sports Hall of Fame is thrilled
to display the Olympic torch used by Simon Whitfield in the first
Canadian leg of the 2010 torch relay. The torch along with Simon's relay
uniform are on display in the 2010 Gallery. When asked if he would lend
the torch to the Hall in the lead up to the Games, Simon said he would
be honoured. The torch is a featured artifact in the Olympic
Inspirations school tour and is inspiring visitors of all ages. Who
knows maybe a young tri-athlete will see the torch and be inspired to
win his or her own pair of Olympic medals. 
 

The BC Sports Hall of Fame looks forward to welcoming the world (and
locals) during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Open from
8:00am-3:00pm during the games, other details are listed at
