Barkerville has an Access database that has separate tables for Archives
and Objects (and many other information sources). There are all,
however, linked by a single common "Subject term" table - all data
sources contribute to this table. That way one search in "Subject Terms"
brings up records in any data source (objects, archives, library, maps,
genealogical...). This was an idea for linking Archives and Museum data
that Bill Purver of the Archives Association of BC suggested many years
ago while I was working at the BCMA.
