mid-career and internationally recognized Aboriginal artists from 
Alaska, Yukon, BC, and Washington State.  It conveys the pivotal role of 
textiles in contemporary Northwest Coast art, challenges its stereotype 
as womens' work and pays tribute to its growing profile on the 
contemporary art scene.


The exhibition includes Coast Salish weavings, Raven's Tail and /Naaxiin 
/style (Chilkat) robes, tunics and capes, as well as cedar bark and 
spruce root clothing and accessories.

Members of the Bill Reid Gallery are invited to an Exhibition Preview of 
Time Warp before the doors open to the public. At 10:15am a short tour 
will be provided by Evelyn Vanderhoop and Dr. Martine Reid - the 
curators of the exhibition.

Admission is complimentary - please bring your Membership card with you. 
If your Membership has expired you can renew it with Guest Services that

PUBLIC PROGRAM
11am - 12:30pm
Members: $8, General: $10 (including Gallery Admission)

Delores Churchill, of Ketchikan, Alaska, renowned Haida textile and 
fibre weaver, and recipient of multiple international awards, will share 
her knowledge of Raven's Tail weaving and its relationship to basketry. 
She will be joined by other Time Warp artists in a group discussion 
addressing the role that old works have and continue to play in the 
rediscovery and revival of this ancient weaving style.
