Human Resources and Skills Development Canada has approved a $50,000 Small
Projects Enabling Accessibility Fund grant for the Central BC Railway and
Forestry Museum to increase accessibility. Beginning late May, the Central
BC Railway and Forestry Museum has focused their projects on enhancing
accessibility.

"Our government continues to support people with disabilities and their
families," said the Honourable Jay Hill, Leader of the Government in the
House of Commons and Member of Parliament for Prince George-Peace River on
behalf of the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and
Skills Development. "Through the Enabling Accessibility Fund, this project
will help people with disabilities by improving access to the Central BC
Railway and Forestry Museum's facilities, activities and services."

The Enabling Accessibility Fund supports community-based projects across the
country that improve accessibility and enable all Canadians, regardless of
physical ability, to participate in and contribute to their communities and
the economy.

The Prince George Community Foundation granted the Museum $2,500 to restore
the boardwalks and build accessibility ramps to onsite heritage and display
building including the 1914 Penny Station which arrived at the Museum in
1988.

The $50,000 Small Projects Enabling Accessibility Fund Grant along with a
Prince George Rotary Nechako donation of $5,000 and a Husky Energy donation
of $200, will allow the Museum to focus on paving its park pathways. The
paving of the pathways, which will commence on Thursday, June 10, 2010, will
increase accessibility for those reliant on mobility aids such as
wheelchairs, strollers, walker and canes.
