Dreamcatcher workshop at the Creston Museum
Saturday, June 26
1:00 - 3:00 PM
You may be familiar with dreamcatchers - the traditional First Nations craft
that traps bad dreams and allows only the good ones into your sleep. Now
you have a chance to make one for yourself. The Creston Museum is pleased
to be hosting a very special dreamcatcher workshop on Saturday, June 26.
Michael White is originally from Creston and is a traditional member of the
Ktunaxa nation. He spent his youth elsewhere but returned to his Nation in
1992 to learn about his culture and traditional ways of life.
Now, he is looking forward to sharing that knowledge with you.
The workshop's fee of $50 provides you with all the necessary materials, and
you will leave with your very own dreamcatcher. But this is much more than
just a two hour craft session. As you work on your dreamcatcher Michael
will share traditions and stories to reveal the Ktunaxa culture, making this
a very special and unique First Nations experience.
The workshop runs from 1:00 to 3:00 on Saturday, June 26, at the Creston
Museum. Space is limited, so participants are encouraged to register in
advance by calling the Museum at 250-428-9262 or dropping an email to
mail at creston.museum.bc.ca.
