Free Visit at the Maritime Museum of BC

If you have never been to the Maritime Museum of BC, now is your chance. This Monday and Tuesday the Maritime Museum of BC opens its doors to the public free of charge in celebration of International Museum Days.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to share our knowledge and collections with the community," says Shirley Vickers, the executive director at the Museum. "This two day event is an opportune time to discover more on local marine history."

In its fifth year of celebrating International Museum Days, the Maritime Museum of BC has partnered with several local experts and institutions in the marine sector to offer an enhanced experience. The Museum will be joined by Phil Lambert, Marine Biologist, A.G.O. Environmental Electronics, National Geographic IMAX Theatre, Shaw Ocean
Discovery Centre, and the Maritime Museum's own Science Guru, Master Brine. This year's focus will highlight the importance of our relationship with the ocean and there will be a number of special activities to take part in.

Located in the heart of Bastion Square, the Maritime Museum of BC has a wealth of artifacts and history and is a fantastic place to get a glimpse back into the nautical customs of the North Pacific. With exhibits ranging from pirates to heritage vessels and Victoria's original 1889 Courtroom, the MMBC is always a fascinating visit.
