This year BC Archives Week takes place from Sunday, November 14th to
Saturday, November 20th. Archives Week traditionally falls on the week of
November 19th, Douglas

1#section1> Day, when the crown colony of
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colony_of_British_Columbia> British Columbia
was established by its first governor, Sir James Douglas, in 1858.
This year the AABC is celebrating collaboration in the archival, heritage
and information communities and beyond. This is a timely theme as the AABC
is currently working with Artefactual Systems Inc., UVIC, SFU, and the
Anglican Archives of the Diocese of New Westminster on a project to improve
our provincial database and portal, MemoryBC, by making it easier to import
data from institutional databases into ICA-AtoM. This project will resonate
beyond the archival community in BC as more and more institutions and
networks in other regions and sectors are using ICA-AtoM to manage their
collections.
This year's theme for Archives Week is a reminder to our community to seek
out new partnerships, innovative ways to leverage resources, and creative
ideas to publicize collections, exhibitions, and events. In our
interconnected world this is the best way to serve our key audiences and
build new ones.
Please share news of any exhibits or other outreach initiatives you may have
for Archives Week with the provincial archival community through this list.
