Job Posting -- School Art Program Coordinator, Richmond Art Gallery
Applications are now being accepted for the School Art Program
Coordinator position at the Richmond Art Gallery. This well
established, multi-disciplinary visual arts program provides
exhibition-related art workshops and tours for Pre-K to Secondary
students from schools throughout the LMR. The School Art Coordinator
also provides professional development workshops for regional teachers,
prepares teachers' guides for each exhibition (5/year), leads the Spring
Art Camp program and assists the Education and Public Programs
Coordinator on special projects.
_Primary Duties/Responsibilities _
· Develops school programs and learning resources based on
exhibitions
· Develop marketing materials for school program educational
programs
· Recruit, train, schedule and supervise volunteers to assist
with school programs
· Plan, schedule, and facilitate workshops, courses, and various
art programs for school groups and teachers; maintain booking schedule
· Assist Education Coordinator with the preparation of grant and
funding applications
· Works with Secondary School Art Teachers in organising annual
Arts for Life Conference
· Manage budget, plan and purchase art materials
· Facilitate gallery tours to audience members of all ages
· Assist with the management of projects and conferences; assist
with post-project evaluations and follow-up
· Attend meetings, events, conferences and other professional
development opportunities **
_Qualifications _
BFA or equivalent art training
3 to 5 years experience in art education
Written, verbal and interpersonal skills; must be organized, innovative,
and self-motivated
Experience with a wide variety of age groups
Knowledge of child development/stages of human growth and development,
considered an asset
Must be able to pass a Criminal Records Check
30 hours/week, 46 weeks per annum, $21.10/hour plus 4% vacation and 5
% in lieu of benefits
