Subject: [BCMA] BCMA Re-Launches ROUNDUP

(Please re-circulate to your members & listserv subscribers!)

The BC Museums Association has re-launched its signature publication,
Museums Roundup in its new, electronic format, now available on the BCMA
website at:

http://www.museumsassn.bc.ca/Content/Membership/Roundup.asp
<http://www.museumsassn.bc.ca/Content/Membership/Roundup.asp>

This premiere issue of our re-designed quarterly journal introduces a
new, interactive capability that in future issues will enable active
links to audio podcasts, streaming video clips and possibly,
YouTube-style presentations by our advertising supporters. A special
thanks to our Conference 2010 Trade Show exhibitors who have
participated in this issue. By clicking their display ads, you can be
transported to their corporate websites and explore their numerous
products and services your museum, art gallery or heritage site just may
be looking for.

The online Fall 2010 issue features stories from over 20 contributors,
including volunteers, museum and gallery professionals, independent
contractors and academics from all over BC and beyond.

Content highlights include:

* "Resource Roundup" with Conference 2010 keynote speaker, Nina
Simon

* Conference 2010 feature & conference themes in action in BC
museums and galleries

* Cultural tourism in Nanaimo, BC

* Chronicle of provincial funding cuts & impacts on BC's museums
and galleries

* Conservation of the E.J. Hughes mural in Nanaimo (and the subject
of a Conference 2010 presentation by Cheryle Harrison)

* "Lunch with Owl" featuring the RBCM's venerable, Gary Mitchell

* "Geek Speak" goes to the Kootenays to learn about "Tag
technology"

...and more about the museums, galleries and heritage sites across the
province.

This marks the first issue produced by new Managing Editor, Lisa Codd,
and her team from Shared Solutions. Lisa was selected from the highly
competitive RFP process issued last spring.

The BCMA wishes to welcome and congratulate Lisa, the designers and
contributors for a fabulous first effort!

We would love to receive your comments, so that we may be able to make
Roundup as engaging, informative and representative of our provincial
community as possible.

Thank you!
