You have that right. lack of funding is a reality situation - ghosts walks,
etc. should be just a fun thing to do. One does not have to dabble in
witchcraft or the ocult to have a fun time at halloe'n for gosh sake. Sharon

Man, if they think a ghost walk and séance invites evil, they should try
working within arts and culture funding in BC!

Museum seance, ghost walk going ahead despite

fears of ‘evil’

Kenyon Wallace, National Post, Tuesday, October 19, 2010

A Halloween fundraiser for the Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw,
Sask., featuring a seance and a ghost walk, will go ahead as planned after
it was cancelled last week for “inviting evil” into the community.

The $30-per-head event, in support of a project to repair the museum’s
famous narrow-gauge steam locomotive, became the centre of a debate over
religious freedom when various faith-based groups and community members
expressed concerns that the seance might invite unwelcome spirits.

Many religions, including Christianity, Judaism and Islam, forbid or frown
on the practice of seances. The museum pulled the plug to avoid conflict,
but the decision attracted national attention, raising questions about free
expression and religious intolerance.
