WAM! World Art Market
Museum of Anthropology
September 18-19, 2010, 10 am-5 pm

MOA's first-ever global marketplace features indigenous art, artists,
performers, musicians, and cuisine from around the world.

Tickets $7 per person (includes HST) at the door (includes Museum entry).
MOA members and UBC staff, students, and faculty free. Members-Only
Reception, Friday, September 17, 7 pm, with Malcolm Aiken Quartet.

Inspired by long-established events such as the Santa Fe Indian Market, The
Cultural Survival Bazaar, and the Maori Market in Wellington, New Zealand,
MOA’s first annual World Art Market will showcase the art, craft, music,
dance, and cuisine of indigenous peoples from around the world. WAM! will
take place over two days in September on the grounds of the Museum, in a
giant tent overlooking mountains and sea.

Mark your calendars for this amazing opportunity to meet and purchase works
by artists from around the world while taking in the family-friendly
festival atmosphere. The winners of a juried design competition, open to all
participating artists, will be awarded prizes in various categories at a
special MOA members-only event on September 17. Not a member? Sign up NOW to
receive your invitation: www.moa.ubc.ca/join.

Click on www.moa.ubc.ca/world-art-market for a list of participating artists
from near and far, performers (including Aché Brasil, Coyes-Thompson Band,
Cris Derksen, Pepe Danza, Git Hayetsk First Nations Dancers, Kunaka Marimba,
Sister Says, and more!), and a full schedule of music, dance, drumming,
workshops, and demonstrations planned for this amazing festival. Also check
