CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - The Vernon Public Art Gallery hosts Artist Trading Card Exhibition

When:                                     October 21 - December 22, 2010

Where:                                    3228-31st Ave., Vernon, BC, V1T 2H3

Why:                                       To involve regional, national and international artists in the VPAG's Artist Trading Card Exhibition, titled: 21/2 x 31/2

Opening Reception:              October 21, 5-8 pm

VPAG Hours:                          Mon-Friday: 10am-5pm, Saturdays: 11am-4pm

 

The Vernon Public Art Gallery is seeking submissions for its Artist Trading Card exhibition titled, 21/2 x 31/2.  There is still time to submit your unique creations for this exhibition that runs from October 21 - December 22, 2010.  This show will consist of a maximum of 600 pieces sent in from regional, national and international participants.  At the end of the exhibition (December 22, 2010), the curator and curatorial assistant will provide each participant 6 new cards, from 6 other participating artists, to add to their personal collection of Artist Trading Cards.

 

All media and techniques are accepted as long as the dimensions of 21/2 x 31/2 inches are consistent.   ATC's are self-produced and are meant to be traded one-on-one or by mail trading swaps.  

 

ATC's are a great way to get creative with art, regardless of age and artistic capabilities.  The Vernon Public Art Gallery invites you to get involved in this unique opportunity which showcases the talent of so many different people from all over the world.

 

For an introduction into how Artist Trading Cards are made, the Gallery hosts workshops and trading sessions on the last Saturday of every month from 2-4 pm.  Materials are provided and it only costs $2 to drop-in!
