Kamloops Art Gallery 

September 8, 2010

 

*22^nd Annual Original Art Auction *(info poster attached)**

The Kamloops Art Gallery proudly presents the 22^nd Annual Original Art 
Auction & Exhibition.  The auction of original art from local, regional 
and nationally recognised artists takes place Saturday, October 2, 2010 
at 7:00 p.m. with a cocktail party fundraising event.  The exhibition to 
preview the auction items runs from September 20 to October 1.

 

"A pirate's trove of treasure and art" is this year's theme. There are 
over 100 pieces of original art, great weekend getaways, and more 
wonderful items to bid on!  Enjoy 'great grub' (appetizers served pass 
around style and at food stations), rum cocktails, and other beverages 
and live music with the Jon Kelly Band.  For your enjoyment and fun 
there will be mystery, silent and live auctions, with Ernie Beadle as 
our Auctioneer.  Guests are invited to wear pirate and wench costumes, 
if they so desire -- or dare - to get into the fun (optional).  Make 
your own, or rent one from Pandora's Costume Box.

 

New this year will be a treasure chest full of fun things to do in 
Vancouver. Buy a $20 key for a chance to win a great weekend getaway, 
including airfare. Also new, is a fun Treasure Map game.

All auction tickets purchased by September 18 will also include an 
invitation to attend the exclusive members only Exhibition Opening 
Reception on Saturday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m.    Many donating 
artists will be attending this event, creating a great opportunity to 
meet them.

 

The Kamloops Art Gallery will be accepting pre-bids on all the auction 
items from the exhibition opening, Sept 18 to October 1.    Give us the 
highest amount you would bid for a piece.  All highest pre- bids 
received will be the opening bid the night of auction. 

 

The exhibition will be on for two weeks and features works from well 
known artists such as Tricia Sellmer, Frances Harris, Philippe Raphanel, 
Ann Kipling and many more.

 

Tickets for the auction are $75 + HST per person -- in support of the 
Kamloops Art Gallery. Available at The Gallery Store or by calling 
250-377-2400.  We hope to see you at our biggest fundraiser of the year!
