Archives workshops help preserve the past

 

Vancouver, BC - This fall season, the Jewish Museum & Archives of
British Columbia will offer public comprehensive programs on how to care
for and preserve family histories. Whether you are a novice family
historian, interested in gaining tips from a professional archivist, or
thinking of starting your own family archives, these hands-on sessions
will cover a range of topics including caring for your family
photographs, recording oral history interviews, and digitizing
photographs, audio cassettes and videos to create a digital library. To

Fee: $25 per person, Jewish Historical Society of BC members receive 10%

Have you ever wondered what to do with all those old family photographs
that are stored in drawers, shoe boxes, falling apart photo albums? Did
you know that putting photographs into albums can actually do more
damage to your photos than good? Here is your chance to discover and
learn from a professional archivist how to save your family photos for
future generations. Bring your photographs to the museum for a hands-on
session.
