For over 25 years, BC Place has been an emblem of British Columbia. As the
largest event facility of its kind in the province, the stadium has hosted
over 26 million people since opening in 1983. Known for its unique fibre
glass/Teflon roof, BC Place has been a defining silhouette in Vancouver's
skyline.

 

Since 1992 it has also been the home of the BC Sports Hall of Fame which
celebrates over 100 years of provincial sport heritage in BC dedicated to

 "Honouring the Past . Inspiring the Future".

 

The BC Sports Hall of Fame has produced a special one-time limited edition
frame featuring two of the finest athletes ever to play at BC Place,
Vancouver Whitecaps's Bobby Lenarduzzi and BC Lions' Lui Passaglia.  Who can
forget Bobby and the Whitecaps playing against North American Soccer League
rival, the Seattle Sounders, in the first sporting event ever played in the
stadium in 1983 or Lui's last second field goal to win the Grey Cup in 1994
over Baltimore and keep the cup in Canada.

 

You too can own a piece. BC Place was the largest air-supported stadium in
the world when it was first built.  It has housed an incredible range of
historic events, from the royal visit of Queen Elizabeth II, to sold-out
Rolling Stones concerts, to trade and consumer show and most recently the
Opening, Closing and Victory ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and
Paralympic Winter Games.
