Arts Alive 2011 will fill the Burnaby Art Gallery's main gallery with artwork by elementary students in Kindergarten through Grade 7, from across Burnaby School District 41. This year, students have taken inspiration from prints and drawings of animals by BC printmaker Alistair Bell. Created in response, students' own animal images explore in all directions, from spirited sculptures to imaginative drawings and paintings. A selection of Alistair Bell's prints and drawings from a recent donation by the artist's son, Alan Bell, will be on exhibit in the upper gallery until June 19.

Students, family members, teachers and the public are invited to attend the opening reception for Arts Alive 2011 at the Burnaby Art Gallery.

An online exhibition of all student work can be viewed at www.burnabyartgallery.ca<http://www.burnabyartgallery.ca>.
