Position:  COLLECTIONS & EXHIBITS COORDINATOR 

(part-time 16 hours per week)

 

The White Rock Museum + Archives is preparing to move to our newly renovated
facility and require a vibrant, knowledgeable Collections and Exhibits
Coordinator to join our museum team.

 

As the Collections & Exhibits Coordinator you will be directly responsible
for the care and management of the Museum's collection, as well as assisting
with the planning and implementing of all gallery exhibits.  

 

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes and
abilities:

 

-          Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-          Reliability and professional work standards

-          Superior customer service skills

-          Success working both independently and as part of a team

-          Confidence in setting up and establishing collections and exhibit
areas in our newly restored facility 

-          Ability to implement and monitor registration and accessioning
procedures according to accepted museum standards

-          Confident completing data entry and records maintenance of
collections

-          Able to ensure adequate preservation and conservation standards
for the collection

-          Ability to plan, coordinate, design and implement all gallery
exhibits and outreach exhibits

-          Ability to liaison with donors, community groups and other
museums

-          Confident supervising and training volunteers, students and/or
interns

-          Demonstrates flexibility and creativity

-          Must be able to lift 30 pound boxes and work from a ladder

 

Preferable qualifications include: 

 

-          Education in a related field

-          Two or more years experience working in a museum environment
