Employment Opportunity in Wells, BC
*The following job is open to College or University Students only,
who are returning to full time studies in the fall. Must be 30 years
or younger.
Special Events and Marketing 14 weeks, 35 hours/week
Island Mountain Arts, Wells, BC
May 23 to August 26
$12.50/hour
Project & Job Objectives:
Candidate will organize special events held by the Island Mountain
Arts Gallery, School of the Arts and the ArtsWells Festival Of All
Things Art. They will also prepare and distribute publicity materials
(print, radio, posters, etc.) for special events and IMA programming
and handle, process and report on all monies received for special
events and programming. In addition they will assist with all aspects
of daily office duties such as answering phones, emails, filing,
photocopying, etc., and other duties as assigned.
Necessary qualifications:
·Full-time returning student in a field related to the position.
·Interest and/or skills in the fine or performing arts, event
management and marketing
·Excellent communication skills: written and verbal; fluent in English
·Proven Computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, data
entry (graphic and website design are a strong asset)
·Able to work independently and as part of a team
·Attention to detail, thorough, conscientious, creative, and with a
sense of humour
·Willingness to live and work in a small town, rural environment
·A passion or interest in the outdoors and a Valid BC driver's
license are assets
·Legally entitled to work in Canada, between 16 and 30 years of age,
and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or have refugee status in
Canada.
Island Mountain Arts is a vibrant arts organization that provides
innovative cultural programming in north central BC. In addition to
the School of the Arts, the organization annually presents the
ArtsWells Festival (www.artswells.com) and runs a small Public
Gallery, plus and a variety of additional events such as Artist
