Cool Arts Society is proud to announce the Beebox Project; a Cool Arts initiative and community collaboration that fuses Art and Agriculture in an exciting and innovative way.

This multi-faceted project, that celebrates a partnership between Cool Arts Society artists, local apiarist Kevin Dunn and the B.C. Orchard Industry Museum is generously funded by a City of Kelowna; Arts, Culture and Heritage (ACH) Project Grant.

Cool Arts artists engaged in the process of painting and documenting beeboxes supplied by Kevin Dunn of Okanagan Wildbrush Honey while being educated on the importance of bees in our local agriculture and food production. Further to painting and photo documentation, the artists hand delivered their beeboxes to Thompson Farms dressed in protective bee suits, filming the process and participating in film editing workshops for the purpose of educating the public about the vital importance of bees.

The Beebox Project will be on exhibition at the B.C. Orchard Museum from Thursday, August 25th throughout the fall. School tours will enjoy viewing these colourful bee boxes, photography and film as presented by the Cool Arts artists.

Cool Arts is a non-profit society dedicated to providing art opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities in the Central Okanagan.
