Friday, December 9th the British Columbia Boys Choir will entertain the audience with a festive repertoire and a carol sing-along. The British Columbia Boys Choir has won international acclaim throughout Canada, the Netherlands, the United States, Europe, the Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain and Asia. A four-part secular boys choir, it's one of the few in North America. Over its 44 year history, the Choir has trained over 800 members who have represented Canada on 30 international tours, performing a demanding repertoire spanning centuries, from Gregorian chant to contemporary works. Programs frequently include sacred and secular works, selections from musicals and opera, folk songs from around the world, and an assortment of Canadian works, many specifically composed for the Choir. In addition to frequent radio and television appearances, the Choir has made over 20 recordings with four CDs on the market: Home, Places, Symmetry and Spirit. bcboyschoir.org<http://www.bcboyschoir.org/>
December 14-18th, Ruby Slippers Theatre in partnership with Shadbolt Centre for the Arts presents the world premiere of Hotel Bethlehem. A raucous new Christmas farce by award-winning playwright Drew McCreadie answers the pressing question: What actually happened at The Inn that fateful, silent night? Audience members are playfully invited to consider another interpretation of what happened that night. From the shepherds who first saw the star, to the Inn's owner, Joshua, confusion abounds when the three Kings - Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar try to hide their true selves from the Roman soldiers Lewdious and Hepion. Adding to the confusion are the blind census-taker Addius Miopicus and the Inn's staff, Mary, not to be confused with THE Mary who is in the stables waiting for Joseph to give her birthing guidance. Multi-award winning Ruby Slippers Theatre was co-founded in 1989 by a group of female artists from various disciplines who wanted to change the world. They remain committed to the growth and development of socially relevant theatre that is infectiously entertaining. rubyslippers.ca<http://www.rubyslippers.ca/>
