[BCMA] (Fwd) REMINDER: BCMA's (1-Day) Conference 2011 - Dec 9th

REMINDER! The BC Museums Association will hold this year's special 1- 
Day Conference 2011, this Friday, December 9, 2011, graciously hosted by 
Museum of Vancouver & the HR MacMillan Space Centre. 


The 1-Day program features: 

- VENUE CHANGE! BCMA's 2011 Annual General Meeting, will now be 
held in the Joyce Walley Room at the Museum of Vancouver, adjacent to the 
HR MacMillan Space Centre, 1100 Chestnut Street, Vancouver, BC. 

Delegate check-in begins at 8:30am & the AGM at 9:00am; 


- Followed at 10:45am, in the adjacent HR MacMillan Space Centre 
(Auditorium), by the exciting launch of the "Time Travel BC" project website 
& presentation of the dynamic new interactive online sector marketing & best 
practices resources, and visitors' downloadable & mobile apps and trip- 
planning tools. BRING your iPhones & Blackberries for a fun, hands-on 
handheld device workout! 


- 2011 Provincial Museums in Motion Awards Luncheon & Awards 
Presentation Ceremony, including this year's Golden Anniversary 
Service Awards, will be held in the MOV's Joyce Walley Room, overlooking 
Vancouver's picturesque English Bay & North Shore mountains, beginning 
at 12:15pm; 


- Followed in the Joyce Walley Room at 2:15pm by the moderated Plenary: 
"Making Museums Matter to Municipalities" featuring a diverse and 
engaging panel of guest speakers for lively & helpful discussion on how your 
institution can cultivate & foster its community-based relationships to build 
capacity and increase sustainability. 


The entire day's program runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm to allow same day 
travel. 


Attached please find the "Participant Registration Form" (pdf), which 
includes the Conference 2011 Itinerary & updated Venues. The Awards 
Luncheon and Plenary have limited available seating, and for catering 
purposes, ALL those planning to attend are required to complete and fax- 
back to BCMA a completed Registration Form by December 7, 2011. 

Award Luncheon tickets must be purchased in advance by 12:00 
Midnight, Tuesday, December 7, 2011 and are available on a "first come" 
basis, (Only 80 seats are available).
