The Jewish Museum & Archives of British Columbia (JMABC) presents
"Caring for and Digitizing Your Family Photographs" on Sunday, January
29, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Peretz Centre for Secular Jewish
Culture, 6184 Ash Street.  

 

Have you ever wondered what to do with all those old family photographs
that are stored in drawers, shoe boxes, falling apart photo albums? Did
you know that putting photographs into albums can actually do more
damage to your photos than good? Have you ever thought how great it
would be to convert those old photographs to digital in order to share
with family members? But, what about preserving those photographs/audio
cassettes/video that are already digital? 

 

Here is your chance to discover and learn from a professional archivist
how to create digital copies of your family photographs and how to save
those digital photographs for future generations.

 

Jennifer Yuhasz began working as the Archivist for the Jewish Historical
Society of BC in 2009. Jennifer holds a Masters of Archival Studies
(MAS) degree from UBC's School of Library, Archival and Information
Studies (SLAIS), and has a background in History from the University of
Saskatchewan. Jennifer has worked in archival capacities for UBC, the
City of Vancouver Archives, and the Vancouver Maritime Museum. She leads
regular workshops on behalf of the JMABC.

 

Join us on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm for your
chance to discover and learn from a professional archivist how to save
your family photos for future. Admission is $25 per person and JHSBC
members receive 10% off. Everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be
served.
