Amazing Sea Stories - The Maritime Museum of BC

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

December 9th, 2011

Journey on a Polar Expedition with the Maritime Museum of BC

This winter the Maritime Museum of BC is offering exciting and educational guided programming to kids of all ages! Their family-friendly adventures take you on a Polar Expedition without leaving the Museum! Find out just who else lives there besides Santa. Or how about discovering what life was like aboard a ship with Out to Sea? You get to build your very own model boat!

The Maritime Museum of BC is also bringing back its popular A Pirate's Life for Me program for all you Scallywags who wish to be a pirate for a day!

Guided programs run Dec.27th to the 30th and begin at 1pm. Cost is admission to the Museum. Donations are always appreciated!

And for all those young and young at heart, the Museum also has some fun and challenging unguided activities! Follow the path of elves hidden throughout the galleries to discover a prize at the end. Explore the Museum's different floors on a scavenger hunt while learning navigational skills with the help of a compass. You can also try your hand at knot tying, creating your own pirate character or making a one-of-a-kind maritime Christmas decoration!

Unguided activities are free with admission from 10 am to 5 pm every day.

Also, coming Janurary 12th, the Maritime Museum of BC is pleased to invite the public to their opening of a new and thrilling exhibit, What Lies Beneath: The Past, Present and Future of Underwater Exploration. Join them at 1:00pm and delve into the dark depths of our oceans!
