Island Mountain Arts is seeking a qualified individual
to fill the position of Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant.
$15 per hour
October to April ~ 20 hours per week
May to September ~ 35 hours per week
Island Mountain Arts, is a vibrant arts organization that provides
innovative cultural programming in north central BC. In addition to
the ArtsWells Festival (www.artswells.com), the organization annually
presents the Summer School of the Arts, the International Celtic Harp
School, the Toni Onley Artists’ Project for Emerging and Professional
Artists and a variety of additional events and workshops. IMA’s
Public Gallery features exhibits by artists from western Canada and

Wells is a tiny community 80 km east of Quesnel, near Barkerville
Historic Town and Bowron Lakes Provincial Park. It is known as a
destination for the arts, heritage and outdoor pursuits. For more

The Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant works directly under the
Executive Director and is responsible for the accounting, payroll,
and all other financial aspects of the operations of Island Mountain
Arts in addition to other tasks as assigned by the Executive
Director. Prior experience in arts and culture or non-for-profit
administration is an asset. Bookkeeping experience and/or training
is mandatory.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
· Accounting/Bookkeeping experience and/or training
· Excellent organizational skills
· Excellent time managements skills
· Highly self motivated and able to prioritize
· Adaptable and quick to learn
Duties:
Accounts payable and Receivable
Payroll and Payroll remittances
Management of Gallery Gift Shop including; consignment tracking and
payouts, annual inventory, general overseeing
HST remittances
Cash-outs (daily in summer, weekly in winter)
Board meeting reports – Preparation of Board Packages, including
monthly progress report, and various financial reports
Budgets and financial projections (on going as required)
Assistance with grant writing and communication with agencies
Year end reporting for various grants and agencies
Financial management of ArtsWells and other events
Membership, Donation and Registration processing
General office duties including; answering phones, email and info
requests, maintaining office order and cleanliness
Other duties as required
