Grounds Restoration

The restoration work on the castle grounds has been completed and we 
look forward to having our March Break program which will include 
outdoor games and activities for children.

Summer Celebration

A celebration of the completed work will occur this summer, so "keep 
your ears to the ground" for more info.

Special Occasions

The new grounds provide ample space for outdoor events, so please keep 
us in mind for your cocktail reception or other outdoor activity.  For 
more information on venue rentals, please contact Elisabeth Hazell,

Although Craigdarroch Castle is recognized as a National Historic Site, 
we do not receive any funding from the government.  Instead we rely on 
admission fees, volunteers and the generosity of members to keep the 
Castle open.

*Introducing 6 new programs for March Break*

/"A Little Bit of History and a Whole Lot of Fun!"/

Craigdarroch Castle is pleased to announce an exciting new series of 
March break programs for children ages 5-10. Designed to bring history 
to life, each fun-filled session will have a different theme and feature 
indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts and fun learning activities 
built around history themes. Parents are encouraged to register quickly, 
as each class will be limited to just 12 lucky children.

Although it may not feel like it today, March Break is just around the 
corner!  We are pleased to present the following programs this year:

* “What do you mean, no Internet?!” *

*book 5*What did kids do for fun before computers, internet and t.v.? 
Learn how to have fun Victorian style with music, arts & crafts, and 
games! Make traditional crafts, play children’s games, and even see what 
kids used to wear!

*Monday, March 14th , 1pm – 3:30, (AGES 5-7) $25*

*Dunsmuir for a Day*

castle 2What was it like to live at Craigdarroch? Kids will tour the 
castle and the Rockland neighbourhood, learn about how Robert Dunsmuir 
built his Vancouver Island empire and design and build their own castle.

*Wed., March 16th, 9:30 – noon: (AGES 8-10) $25 *

** *Teddy Bear Tea Party *

teddy 2Bring your teddy bear, and join us for a fun-filled session all 
about teddy bears. Learn all about Teddy Bear history, play teddy 
bear-inspired games, crafts, and of course...enjoy a tea party at the 
Castle!

*Friday, March 18th, 1pm – 3:30: (AGES 5-7) $25*

royal shield or sash and enjoy castle-themed games and activities.

*Wed., March 23rd, 9:30 – noon: (AGES 5-7) $25*

*Mad Hatter Tea Party *

hatGuaranteed fun: Make your own “Mad Hatter” hat to celebrate this 
Victorian theme that has been enjoyed by children for over a century. 
Wear anything you like – even your old Hallowe’en costume to enjoy a fun 
topsy-turvey time with a tea party theme at the Castle.

*Friday, March 25h, 1pm – 3:30: (AGES 8-10) $25*
