Dear Media Partners and Kelowna Art Gallery supporters,

The Kelowna Art Gallery is pleased to celebrate 10 years of
collaboration with the En'owkin Centre in Penticton as we celebrate the
opening of the REEL ROOTs 2011 Indigenous Media Arts Exhibition on
Friday, February 11, 2011. This exhibition of films will be on view
February 12 to April 30, 2011, and showcases Indigenous diversity and
cultural storytelling through media imagery. There are many layers to
any story that could be written or broadcast about this exhibition, as
REEL ROOTs serves to dispel myths and misconceptions about Indigenous
people. Works featured in this year's festival include films by Centre
for Arts and Technology (Kelowna) alumni/ae. The exhibition is produced
in partnership with the En'owkin Centre, Ullus Collective, and Capilano
University.

It is safe to say that interview subjects to weave this story together
will be easy to come by - both in the Okanagan as well as in Vancouver.

Attached, you will find an invite to the Opening Reception as well as a
media release about the exhibition, which will be on view through April
30, 2011. For your convenience, the media release is also included below

I am on holidays Jan 28-Feb 9 (inclusive); please note that Nataley
Nagy, Kelowna Art Gallery Executive Director, and Tracey Bonneau,
Festival Coordinator, will be your media contacts. Either one of these
ladies may follow up with you within the next few weeks.

We look forward to working with you on helping promote this incredibly
important exhibition, and we thank you in advance for your
consideration.

Kind thanks,
