Now heading into its 5th year, the Arts council of the Central Okanagan's
Okanagan Arts Awards is once again seeking a design for the
three-dimensional sculpture that will become the award to be presented to
each Okanagan Arts Awards Recipient.

CALL TO ARTISTS!

 

The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan's Okanagan Arts Awards are seeking
a design for a three-dimensional sculpture that will become the award to be
presented to each Okanagan Arts Award recipient at the event.

 

This is a great opportunity to create a sculpture representing the
achievement of artists in our community. The Okanagan Arts Awards Launch
will be held at the Kelowna Art Gallery on Thursday October 6, 2011, where
the chosen design/maquette will be announced and the winning artist will
receive an honorarium of $1,000.00 the second and third place winners will
each receive an honorarium of $250.00 

 

The Okanagan Arts Awards is an annual celebration recognizing winning
nominees for their outstanding achievement. The awards serve to underline
the importance of the arts in our communities, and to recognize individuals
and groups for their significant contributions and for their exceptional
support of arts and culture in the Okanagan.

 

Please submit your drawing(s) of the design by August 31, 2011. 

The submissions will be short listed to three finalists by September 8,
2011. The three finalists are invited to attend the Okanagan Arts Awards
Launch on October 6, 2011 where the winning design/maquette will be
announced and the three artists will be recognized and presented
honorariums. 

 

The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan is a non-profit organization that
is the underlying support for anything and everything that is art. Art is
culture, entertainment, recreation, lifestyle and worldview. The arts
include all. The arts include you! The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan
supports, strengthens and promotes all art disciplines and traditions. The
Arts Council of the Central Okanagan acts as an advocate for you!
