[BCMA] Collections Database

I seem to recall that recently there was a thread on the BCMA list about museums collections database software, and what is best for a community museum - but now I can't find the thread in the BCMA list archive.  

I am wondering what people have found to be the best software to use, and what to avoid.  All responses appreciated.
