Media Release

The Bamberton Historical Society is delighted to be hosting the Seeds and Salt Theatre Company's brand new production "Bedtime Stories: Dreaming of Vancouver Island" as part of their 2011 summer tour. This exciting theatre company has received great reviews for bringing alive the history of Vancouver Island to audiences of all ages.

The performance consists of four true stories - A Pittance of a Remittance, The Bride Ships, Strathcona 100 and The Chocolate Bar War. A cast of four actors using minimal props and bags of talent transport the audience back into Vancouver Island's history.

"This is our third successful year and we are thrilled to present 22 shows to 14 community venues on Vancouver Island and Salt Spring Island from July 1-23.

These unforgettable stories earn their way onto the stage because they speak to our shared sense of what it is to be an 'islander'."

"This is a production that will entertain the whole family." Maureen Alexander, Producer.

The brilliance of this show is the creation of a lot from a little. Stories are hilariously and movingly told by 4 actors using minimal props and agile acting that will challenge your imagination. Within the performance's simplicity lies a theatrically challenging accomplishment.
