To celebrate the opening of the "Fraser Valley Biennale 2011" exhibit at The Reach Museum Gallery Abbotsford, The Reach presents "The Reach Biennale Arts & Cultural Fair. This event, held in the civic plaza adjacent to The Reach, features performances by Ranj Singh and the Discriminators,  Mojo Zydeco and more. Bring your lawn chairs and get ready for a great afternoon of music, art and fun!

Ranj Singh has been working hard to combine his vast experience in Indian music and his unique "up stroke" guitar melodies for his new, diverse, and entertaining 5-piece band, by the name of "Ranj Singh and the Discriminators". Members are Chris Dufault on lead guitar, Dan Huget on electric violin, Bojan Bugarinovich on Sitar and Bass, and David Eadie on percussion. They perform a style of music they call Indo-Folk Rock. On June 25,  Ranj Singh and The Discriminators officially release their first full length album, Found A Way Home.


Mojo Zydeco is a high energy band that  makes "the good times roll" when they play.  Formed in 2001, after founding members experienced Zydeco music and dance firsthand in Louisiana, the band has performed throughout BC, as well as in New Orleans, to rave reviews.  Mojo Zydeco recently released their third CD entitled Doin' it,featuring both local session players and guest artists from Louisiana.

Taiko Workshop with Doug Masuhara.  This is a free workshop but pre-registration is recommended email info at thereach.ca to register.

12pm - 5pm

The Reach Roadshow - Bring your cherished possessions to our annual antiques appraisal event with Gale Pirie CPPA, an independent accredited appraiser who has appeared on the Canadian Antiques Roadshow and has many years of valuable experience.  $15 for 1 item/$25 for 2 items/$30 for 3 items/$35 for 4 items (4 items max). Pre-registration recommended.

 *   Hands on artshops for all ages include beaded & fabric bracelets/necklaces, tutus, cardboard castles, flower pounding and chalk mural
 *   Food Vendors on-site
