NEWS RELEASE

By Popular Demand, WOW! What's on Wednesday is Back!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 22, 2011

Delta, BC - Calling out to all Mums and Dads, are you looking for something
fun for the kids to do over the vacation period? Well we have something to
offer you! During the summer months, the Delta Museum and Archives Society
has four programs that offer fun ways for children to discover the world
around them. Join us for a morning of fun and adventure at one of this
year's popular "WOW - What's on Wednesday" summer programs.

Children will learn how wool gets from sheep to sweater in the Wonderful,
Wooly, Weaving program while trying their hand at carding and spinning wool.
During What's Afloat, they will hear fascinating stories about the many
different boats on the Delta waterway, play games and build a model boat.
For children attending our Toys Unplugged, they will discover what
activities children enjoyed before videogames and electricity; join in with
some pioneer games and make old-fashioned toys. Mind Your Own Beeswax will
offer participants an opportunity to learn about bees and their homes; make
a candle out of beeswax and plant a bee friendly garden. For complete
descriptions and schedule visit our website at www.deltamuseum.ca.

Children ages 7 to 12 years can enrol in one, two or all four of these
fun-filled, drop-in programs. This is a wonderful opportunity for your
children to get out of the hot summer sun and have some indoor fun. Cost is
only $5.00 per child (supplies and admission included) and all programs are
2 hours (10:00am to 12:00 noon or 1:00 to 3:00pm) in length. Space is
limited so early registration is recommended! There is a maximum of 25
participants for each WOW program and available spots fill up quickly.
These programs can also be pre-booked for summer birthday parties or daycare
groups. To register, call Delta Museum's education programs at 604-946-9322
or visit our website at http://www.deltamuseum.ca
<http://www.deltamuseum.ca/> for further information.
