You are cordially invited to the opening reception of the "Stamps, Coins,
Books and Photographs of Centenary of the Founding of the First Republic 
of China 1991 Exhibition"

 

Co-presented by collector and artist Mr. Keng Hoi Yee and the Chinese
Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver, the exhibition opens on Saturday 
March 12th 2pm and runs till Sunday April 3rd at the To-Yick Wong Gallery 
and Mrs. Lee nee Koh Cheng Koon Foyer of the Chinese Cultural Centre 
Museum and Archives. 

 

Items featured in this exhibition are the original coins and bank notes
issued before, during and after the establishment of the first Republic of
China; books written by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, the predecessor and leader of the
Revolution; photographs of the pioneers of the Revolution and photographs 
of the memorial services that took place in Canada for Dr. Sun Yat-Sen; and
calligraphy pieces by revolution pioneers such as Kang Youwei. Many of the
items are rare and in excellent condition. None of the books were ever
revealed to audience before. 

 

Also in the exhibitions are exquisite calligraphy pieces by Mr. Keng Hoi Yee
eulogizing the accomplishments of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen and extolling the
tremendous contribution of the pioneers who sacrificed their lives in the
Huang Hua Gang Campaign in 1911.
