Spring Break Fun at the Fraser River Discovery Centre
New Westminster, BC - Hey mums and dads, are you looking for something fun
for the kids to do during Spring Break? Then don't look any further. The
Fraser River Discovery Centre is presenting two fantastic drop-in programs
that offer fun ways for children and their families to discover the world
around them. Join us for an afternoon of adventure at one of this year's
popular Spring Break programs.
On Saturday, March 26, children and their parents will become pollution
detectives and uncover the reasons why the animals living along the shores
of Chipper Stream have been getting sick during the Mystery of Chipper
Stream program. Find out what contributed to their illness and come up with
the solution to make them well again. As you collect the evidence, the
reason or reasons behind their illness will be revealed and the necessary
solutions will be clarified.
And join us on Saturday, April 2 at the popular Can You Dig It? program
where participants get dirty and uncover objects in a mock archaeological
excavation. Archaeologists decode clues to interpret how people lived in
the past. Situated under the archaeology tent, using real tools and
techniques, children will interpret secret messages and a series of clues
that will lead them to the hidden treasure.
Children ages 6 to 10 and their families are welcome to drop-in to the
Discovery Centre between 1pm to 3pm for the programs. Please allow a
minimum of one hour to collect all the evidence and solve the mystery.
Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is
$5.00 per child with adults by donation and is a wonderful opportunity for
families to explore the Fraser River while having fun together.
Having a Birthday party? The Discovery Centre's Can You Dig It? program
makes for a fabulous birthday party - you bring the cake and we do all the
rest! For further information, please call the Fraser River Discovery Centre
