Hello,

I own a 1962 Vintage German manufactured glider (built by
Schiebe--Model"L-Spatz55"), stored at Nanaimo Airport (Cassidy).

It has a49 foot-15 metre wingspan and weighs157kg (346lbs).

This aircraft has an interestingflighthistorysinceit was imported new
into Ontario. It was also flown in Alberta by one of the founders of
Westjet.I have all the flight logbooks.

I last flew the glider in Smithers in 1993, it has been in storage since
that time. As I have since bought another aircraft I no longer have the
time or resources to bring the aircraft up to airworthinesscondition. I
wouldthereforelike to donate it to a good home, ideally for public
display or other educational purposes. The aircraftis very light and
could easily be hung for display. The wings and rear horiziontal
stabilizerare detached for transport and are easily reassembled.

There is an L-Spatz in the Winnepeg Aviation museum.

Detailsandphotographsabout this model are easily found by
Googling'L-Spatz 55'--Wikipedia.

Theglideris presently storeditsroad trailer.

Regards,

Mark Harvey
